Harper’s Home Board of Directors

Mike Borasky

Mike Borasky has practiced law for more than five decades with his firm in Pittsburgh, representing large and small companies in courts throughout the country and counseling clients on matters relating to his areas of expertise. Mike, a proud Duke and William & Mary Law alum, and his wife, DiAnn, relocated to the Raleigh-Durham area about 15 years ago. Mike and DiAnn have known Harper since she was born and they have watched Harper and Heather follow their dream for what has become Harper’s Home since the earliest days of that journey. Mike welcomes the opportunity to share his many years of experience serving on the Boards of charitable and other non-profit organizations by volunteering to join the Harper’s Home Board.

Harper Harrell

Harper Harrell serves as our Chief Inspiration Officer.

In 2021, Harper faced her own battle with leukemia, becoming a source of inspiration for countless individuals. Her remarkable journey and determination to make a difference sparked the idea for something extraordinary — Harper’s Home.

Harper wanted to help other children like her, and she learned one of the greatest challenges many families face is the distance they have to travel for treatment and the cost of housing.

She wants to change this.

Today, Harper’s Home stands as a testament to the resilience of a young girl who turned her own adversity into a force for good.

Heather Hindin

Heather Hindin is the Founder and Executive Director of Harper’s Home and serves on its Board of Directors. Based in Durham, she brings a background in education and a longstanding commitment to equity and access for families navigating complex systems.
Heather founded Harper’s Home following her daughter Harper’s cancer diagnosis, drawing from her own experience to address a critical gap in housing for families receiving care at Duke Children’s. Under her leadership, the organization provides free, short-term housing in private homes, ensuring families can stay close to care when it matters most.
In addition to her work with Harper’s Home, Heather is a writer and advocate focused on community, caregiving, and the realities families face during medical crises. She lives in Durham with Harper, who continues to inspire this work through her strength, empathy, and advocacy for other children and families.
